Purin Cute Expense Tracker · Last updated 12 October 2026
Purin Cute Expense Tracker (“Purin”) is an Android app for recording what you spend. This page explains what the app stores, where it stays, and who else sees it. Purin is operated by Cheung Pak Wai, and “we” and “us” mean us.
The short version: your expenses stay on your phone. We run no server for Purin and the app never sends your expenses to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting inside the app.
What the app stores on your phone
Purin keeps the following in its own private storage on your device:
- Your expenses: each one’s amount, currency, category, payment source, date and optional note.
- Your settings: the reminder time, your recently used categories, and the categories and sources you have removed from the lists.
- Your app lock, if you turn it on. The password itself is not stored, only a scrambled form of it that cannot be turned back into the password. Fingerprint unlock is handled by Android: the app is told only whether the fingerprint matched, and never sees your fingerprint.
- Whether you are a Purin Club member, so your membership card can be shown without a connection.
Purin does not ask for access to your photos, contacts, location, camera or microphone.
What reaches us
Nothing from inside the app. We never see your expenses, your notes or your settings.
When the app goes online
Purin connects to the internet for one thing only: Google Play’s billing service, which shows the price of the Purin Club membership and handles the purchase if you choose to buy it. That connection is between your phone and Google. It does not carry your expenses.
When other apps or services are involved
- Google Play purchases. If you buy the Purin Club membership, Google processes the payment. We never receive your card or payment details. Google gives us a record of the order, such as an order number, the date, the price and your country, so that we can see that a purchase was made and deal with refunds. Google’s handling of your payment is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
- Files you export. “Export all data” writes your expenses to a file in the place you choose, such as your phone’s storage or a cloud drive. The file is not encrypted, so anyone who can open it can read it. Once exported, it is covered by wherever you saved it, not by this policy.
- Files you import. Purin reads only the file you pick, and only to copy its expenses into the app.
- Android backup. If backup is turned on in your phone’s settings, Android may include Purin’s storage, including your expenses, in your device backup with Google. That is controlled by your phone’s settings and Google’s privacy policy, and the backup never reaches us.
- Google Play. Google handles downloading and updating the app. If you have chosen to share usage and diagnostics with Google, Google may pass us anonymous statistics such as install counts and crash reports, which do not include your expenses or anything that identifies you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
Notifications
The daily reminder is created on your phone by the app itself. It is not sent from a server, and it works without a connection. You can change its time or turn it off in Settings.
Deleting your data
- One expense: open it, go to the last step and tap Delete expense.
- Everything: uninstall Purin, or clear its storage in Android’s settings. That deletes every expense and every setting on the phone.
Deleting from the app does not remove files you have already exported, or a device backup held by Google. Delete those where they are kept.
Children
Purin is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If a future version handles your information differently, we will update this page and change the date at the top before that version is released.
